The team drove all day and made it to Camp Pearl safely after dinner time! We had orientation, got settled in, and made some awesome posters for meal distribution tomorrow.

Some of the team directing traffic towards the church where we distributed meals. They were awesome and definitely drew some people in! We were able to serve about 120 meals.

Today we began our first home demolition project in partnership with Operation Hope. This is a continuation of work that was started with a previous PPM team, which is an awesome opportunity to walk out long term investment in the community. Due to water damage from Hurricane Laura, many walls and ceilings have to come down to make the home safe again.
Here Bre, Parker, and Zane are doing some drywall tear-down!

On Tuesday, we began working on Mrs. Montgomery’s house after finishing up the first project. Here we had the opportunity to meet her as well as spend time with her nephew who worked alongside our team on demolition and clean up.

Our team had a well deserved fun day at Holly Beach Thursday, which is about an hour south of Lake Charles. We enjoyed hanging out together, walking along the shore, collecting shells, playing spike ball, football, and lawn darts. As the day winded down, we stopped in Lake Charles for ice cream, then came back to Camp Pearl for Jambalaya!
