International short-term mission trips offer a unique opportunity to participate in and witness what happens when Christ-followers from vastly different backgrounds work together. We are passionate about healthy, long-term, and sustainable partnerships and ministry, where the local pastor and community are given a voice and authority.
When planning your group's short-term mission trip, the first thing our Praying Pelican staff members do is connect with the local pastor and ask, "What are your needs?" and "How do you want to see us help?" Our pastors give us their vision for their local church and their dreams for their community, and we pair those needs with your team's gifts and strengths. We find that for international mission trips, humbly coming under the authority and leadership of the local church is of the utmost importance. This sets the groundwork for genuine relationships to form between your group and your host church, wherever that may be around the world.
Forego the bus altogether in Haiti and sleep in your host church's extra classrooms, carry a tent on your back and hike a mountain at low tide to your partnership location in Costa Rica, or sleep in a bunk-room style guesthouse in Jamaica, near your ministry location. We have many kinds of trips available, from rural to urban, new church plants to older churches in need of renewal.
On your international mission trip, you can customize your trip and we will be flexible to help you make decisions that best fit your group and the host church they are serving with! Led by a team of local staff members, you'll be able to get active and involved in the ministries your group is doing during the week. Let us handle the logistics! We invite you to join us and experience a short-term mission trip centered around a local church body, focusing on long-term sustainability, and led by knowledgeable local staff.
