Epiphany UMC

We made it to Pittsburgh!  We are so excited to be here and be working in the city this week!  Please keep us in prayer, and stayed tune for all our adventures! 

Today, we went down to Calvary United Methodist Church to worship in one of the oldest churches in Pittsburgh!  It was great to be so welcomed by everyone and to worship differently than we are used to.  

After church, we headed down to the Strip District, part of Pittsburgh's cultural district.  We got to try new foods, and explore all the little shops and restaurants.  

We are having a great time, and we are excited to kick off our ministry tomorrow!

Today we were working hard painting and cleaning the house we are staying in!

Today we went to MeTowers, a home for the elderly, and did an ice cream social and had so much fun!

Today was full.  Full of cleaning, of scraping, of scrubbing, of painting.  Full of laughter, of smiles, of joy, of games, of ice cream.  Full of Jesus.  Full of His Joy.  Full of friendship.

We worked hard on the house we are staying at, helping to make it new.  The United Methodist Church Union wants to sell this old little house, and use the money to help serve the community better, to broaden their ministry.  We are more than happy to help!

We also worked/played hard this afternoon with the folks at MeTowers.  We served Ice Cream, heard and shared stories, played games, and even sang a little!  We didn't want to leave!  We loved spending time with our new friends, and we loved being able to bring a bit of joy and fun!

Today was full.  Full of love, full of Christ.

Our neighbors wanted to host a cookout for us!

Today,  we worked with the kids meal network,  providing lunch got kids under the poverty line. We played with the kids and shared a little devotion. 

 This afternoon,  we just got to play and love on the miss in the community! We even got  to share a little devo. 

Hearing from Pastor Bob about the homeless, and how we can make them feel human, just like us. We want to show them love upon love, grace upon grace, as we serve lunch.

We had the chance to go explore downtown!

We've had a great week. Full of fun,  and service and love! We've grown as people and have grown in our faith.  We are so thankful to have met all the people we did, and the new friends we have made!
