Power of Prayerby Jessica Janicki | March 29, 2016 9:19 PM
One of the ladies, Marci, wanted to pray over us. She is from Puerto Rico and her son translated for her. We were so touched by her prayer.
And it's only Day 1by Jessica Janicki | March 30, 2016 3:07 AM
Wow. What can we say to sum up our day? Amazing? Exciting? Adventure? Beauty? Prayerful?
While all those words can describe today, I think Love is the word we are looking for.
We loved exploring the Strip District, seeing all the vendors and trying food from around the world.
We loved going to the MetTower to play bingo with the Elderly. When we entered, the room was quiet, dull. Then we started, and a chorus of shouts and laughter soon filled the room. The room became full of life and fun and joy. Love. We met a woman named Marci, from Puerto Rico, and she prayed over us, loved us. A few of us got to go to a room and prayer over a woman who has cancer. We got to love her.
Tonight we got to love on the neighborhood kids while playing Basketball at The Open Door.
Love.
Today was all about Love. Showing the Love of Christ, and bringing His Hope, His joy.
"Above all, love each other deeply, because Love covers over a multitude of sins." - 1 Peter 4:8

Today was so much fun! We started out at Light of Life, working on sorting and organizing their donations. We folded everything from Infant clothes to kids clothes to Adult clothes. It really hit us hard that there are children who are homeless. We loved working at Light of Life, and we love how they serve the community on the North Side!
This afternoon we worked with The Open Door with it's after school program. We broke into groups, and some of us sat outside the Open Door passing our free snacks to the kids getting off the buses and inviting them to tonight's activity. Another group took the after school kids to the park to enjoy the spring weather and play some tag.
We also helped the kids with their homework, and their craft of building paper mache sculptures.
We then head down to The Open Door. We were expecting around 50-60 kids and parents, but 70-80 people showed up! It was amazing! This Wednesday night meeting at The Open Door has never happened, and we were so excited to help launch this new ministry night.
We played games, and just got a chance to love on the neighborhood kids and invite them back to more activities.
We loved today. We loved being able to serve with Light of Life, and serve the kids at The Open Door.
Thank you for praying for us. God is moving in so many ways!

Saying Goodbyeby Jessica Janicki | April 1, 2016 3:06 PM
We sent the team off this morning with many hugs and prayers. We got to pray over Brad and his work with The Open Door. We loved serving with him!
This week has changed us. Our eyes were opened. We saw God move, and saw His love. We got to experience new cultures, and meet new people, make new friends. We got to grow deeper as a team. We grew deeper in our faith.
We came to love this city, and it's people. We are praying that God will break down walls and that His Spirit will fill Pittsburgh.
We are glad that we got to serve in Pittsburgh! Thank you everyone who supported us, loved us, and prayed for us as we journeyed out to serve the Lord.
God Bless you all!!
