We all made it safe and sound! The ride to our lodging for the night was quite the adventure. Thanks to all the traffic, we were able to see the sights and hear the many different sounds of Haiti. We also got to know each other pretty well! God has purpose in everything...even traffic.
We are settled in for the night outside of Port-au-Prince and are so excited to get to Granbouchi tomorrow. Only a 4 hour drive through the mountains separates us from our home away from home for the week!!
Be in prayer for safety as we travel and fruitful, beautiful ministry as we jump right into it in the afternoon!
Pictures to come!

So sorry for the delay in updating the trip journal! We are experiencing problems with the internet and data service in Granbouchi.
Everyone is having a fantastic time. The kids are a hoot. The dance class was so fun. We are all enjoying our tents and hammocks too! Most of us got cold last night!!
Be patient with us as we try to navigate bring off grid for a bit. We'll update as often as we can!

We started our week by taking a walk through the community. It was so good to get our bearings and meet some of the people we will be doing life with for the week!

Lydia, Taylor, and Jordan have done an amazing job reminding the kids of the fruits of the spirit!

Unity. That was our word for the day. How cool is it that, despite cultural barriers, language, and lifestyle differences, we are all in the same Family. And it is such a privilege to be part of the family of God!
All that to say, church was amazing! Shout out to Emma for using her gift of dance to minister this morning!

We've been working hard each morning, preparing the ground to pour concrete on what will be the altar in Pastor's new church! We've been shoveling, passing buckets, and pushing wheelbarrows.

Taylor did a rocking job at kid's ministry yesterday reminding the kids of the Fruits of the Spirit. The kids were engaged the whole time!

Movement class has been a hit with the children this week! They've loved getting their jitteries out while also finding new ways to memorize scripture.
Thanks for leading, Emma!

Even though the USA team was eliminated quickly, we all still had so much fun watching and cheering on the other teams. These guys played hard and had fun!!
The yellow team came out on top, by the way!

We had the very unique opportunity to help set up for and attend a Haitian wedding yesterday! We saw 6 couples get married in Pastor Delcy' s garden. It was so neat to see one of his biggest passions for his community come to fruition.
Also...who else can say they've been to a wedding in Haiti where six couples got married??

Despite the overcast skies, we had such a fun, relaxing morning at the famous Port Salut beach! Haiti is so beautiful!

One of the best parts of the week was forming and deepening relationships with each other. From passing buckets in a bucket line, to sharing our favorite riddles, to late night games and heartfelt worship, it's been a real pleasure serving alongside each other.
We are both sad to say goodbye to Granbouchi, Haiti, and each other and also glad to say hello to our family back home! We have so many stories to share with you!
See you tomorrow!

How awesome that the word for the day on the 31st was UNITY! Our pastor used that same word for us on that day. It just reminds me that no matter how far away you are, God's word is the same for everyone...and His timing is perfect!
