Edinbrook Church

Tonight we arrived safely in Memphis! We are excited to see how God will work in this city and in our group this week. Keep us in your prayers as we serve throughout the week. 

This morning we worshipped at Monument of Love Baptist Church. It was good getting to see Pastor Joyce again. His energy along with the church members' passion in worship was encouraging.

For the first part of today, some of us went to a nursing home to sing and fellowship with some of the residents living in the facility. We sang hymns then walked the halls talking and praying with some of the residents. Over all, we had a good visit with good conversations.

After lunch, we all headed to a local community center referred to as the Caritas Village. Currently this center is in the process of undergoing renovations, so our team was there to help clean out and pack up all things from the building. We finished 2 hours early because of our hard work and determination! Go team! We hope we were a blessing and help to the staff there at Caritas.

Some of us spent our morning at St. Vincent DePaul Food Mission. Our morning consisted of individually packaging cookies and chips, making pb&j and bologna sandwiches, and prepping the plates for the steady line of those coming to receive food. Total, we served a little over 100 people!

After singing and visiting with the residents at Rainbow Nursing Home, our group was able to snag a picture with Elvis!

Everyday this week, we have sent a group to Monument of Love Baptist Church to help support Pastor Joyce and the local church family. We helped with up keep of the church including repainting and cleaning the inside of the building. To end our time each day at the Monument, we did some outreach in the surrounding community. We were able to talk and pray with many people at red lights and in the neighborhood.

While having lunch at another local park and community center, Jonah entertained us with a little light reading!

Quick stop at Jerry's Sno Cones! Memphians love sno cone supremes and so do we!
