St. John Lutheran Church

Your PPM staff are so excited to meet you. Halecia and Orlando are praying for your travel and arrival on Saturday! 

We all arrived in Lihue between 7-8pm after a LONG day of traveling! More tomorrow after we catch some zzzzz's. 

Early this morning we were ready to to help local members of the church for the glory of Christ. Happy, smiling, and ready for good, hard work! 

God provides us with joy and happiness when we serve him with humble hearts. Today we serve in favor of local fellow believers. Sophie is weeding some white ginger lilies for our new friend. 

A neighbor witnessed the work we were  doing and decided to work alongside us! God provided help with our mission! God is good! 

The youngest member of our group put in hard work today. Everyone can be part of the mission!

We loved getting to know our new friend, Wanda, from Kauai Baptist Church. We were not only able to help her with yard work, but also able to learn some of her story. We also learned Wanda has amazingly helpful neighbors! Thanks, Wes and Ryan, for all the ways you blessed our team and Wanda today! Wanda and Ryan hopped in this photo with us!

We were ready to work hard! As a group, we set a strategy to help at this house and finish all the yard work in an amazing fashion. It is a blessing to serve the local church members in their houses. We pray they see the love of God in our actions. 

What a treat to spend time with our new friend, Leah! We learned alot about her life challenges and her family. We sure enjoyed getting to know her! We worked hard to bless her on Tuesday! 

Leaving Wanda's on Monday, we stopped at a couple scenic viewing areas near Kapa'a. On one side we could see the Wailua River.  On the other side, we could see the Opaeka‘a Falls. After checking out the views, we decided this tree at the parking area was lovely for climbing! 

We toured Kauai Coffee Plantation after work one afternoon. We learned all about coffee and even got to taste some! 

Jose is an exchange student from Spain. What an exciting and awesome opportunity for him to serve others in Kauai! Jose is helping one of our volunteers from Kauai Baptist Church sketch a plan for the window project. 

There were TWO waterfalls on this hike! We enjoyed spending more than an hour at the second one. The trail was fairly easy, but there were some areas of moderate intensity that challenged our climbing skills. But we ALL made it down to the falls and back to the car! Praise Jesus!

We had three sets of flights today! We'll never say goodbye, but we'll for sure say "see ya later"! 

What an amazing week of smiles, hard work, beach time, stories, prayer, yard work, laughter, food, more prayer, hugs, eye rolls, tools, adventures, Jesus, and more!
