We made it to our destination in Slidell, LA after 10 hours of driving. The Lord be praised for safe travels!
Our Praying Pelican Missions hosts welcomed us with some delicious pizzas.
After supper, they gave us a tour of the church where we are staying for the week and gave us a talk on Praying Pelican Missions and the mission we are a part of this week.
We have two church services to attend in the morning and we cannot wait to experience it all!

We attended our first church service at Open Arms Ministries and the second service at Christian Fellowship for the Nations. Both services were quite different from each other.
Each one had a different style of worship, different style of preaching, different groups of people, but our Heavenly Father was at the center of it all.
It was a great reminder that the Church we are a part of, our Lord's Church, is made of all tongues and tribes and languages and nations.
Jesus Christ is the Lord of His Church..

Today we are serving at Christian Fellowship for the Nations. Some of our projects include painting trim, cleaning gutters, and some yard work!

Naomi used her artistic skills to paint Acts 2:42 on a wall in the church! Eventually it will become part of a bigger mural.

This morning, we went to the home of some church members, Kim and Eddie, to help in some house cleaning and yard work. We also got to share in some homemade fried rice for lunch and hear stories from Mrs Kim!

We helped one of the church members who is physically disabled with some projects around their house.
We helped by mowing their lawn, fixing a section of their fence, finishing boarding a green house and more.
We are grateful for the opportunity we have to serve the saints.

We are experiencing some of the things most Praying Pelican Missions teams don't experience since we are a small team.
This week, each night, one of the church families cooks dinner for us. Pastor Greg's mom and dad brought us supper last night and tonight his wife's parents had us at their house for supper after we helped them with some projects around their house.
We enjoy getting to know them and sharing our stories with them.
We are looking forward to the next two nights.
It is great to be members of Christ's great family!

On Wednesday, we spent the day at Ms Cece’s house. Our main project was redoing the roof, but there was also lots of yard work to be done. We split into two teams and got to work!

For our rec day, we went to the French Quarter in New Orleans. We did some souvenir shopping, got some beignets from Cafe du Monde, and did some sight seeing!
