USA Ambassador Pageant Volunteers

This morning we joined Iglesia Metodista Emaús for their Sunday service. Before the message, Pastora Clara prayed over the needs of some of the church members and we laid hands on them. What a joy it is to join together in English and Spanish as one Body of Christ!

We are heading to do a prayer walk around the community and invite children to a summer camp the church will be doing during the first week of August. We are excited to share the love of God with this community. 

We are singing happy birthday to Brooke and Tina. It’s a blessing to celebrate such happy moments with our siblings in Christ.

This morning Pastora Clara is giving us instructions on the projects she needs done in the church and pastoral house. We are so happy to be here showing the love of Christ to this community through our words and actions.

After helping mop the pastoral house and organize Pastora Clara's office, Tina is preparing salad and bread rolls to have with lunch today. Yum!

The windows on the second floor of the church need the handles replaced. Some of the washers were so rusted we needed to cut them off. Soon they will be looking brand new!

Despite the language and cultural barriers we have been able to work alongside members of the church and get everything done. It’s an honor to serve God with our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. 

This morning we are spending time at the Puerto Rican Down Syndrome Foundation. We are so excited to meet the students and spend time with them by doing crafts and playing games!

At the Iglesia Metodista Emaús this afternoon we are pampering the elderly ladies from the church. Some of us are painting nails, some of us are doing makeup, and some of us are giving massages.

Today we are exploring the tourist parts of Puerto Rico. We are starting in Old San Juan, which is a cobblestone city filled with history. For lunch we are enjoying some traditional Puerto Rican mofongo!

This afternoon we are enjoying the water and views at the beach! What a relaxing time after a few days full of ministry.

Tonight Pastora Clara's church hosted a farewell service for us. As she was sharing a message about being amazed at all that God has done for us, she along with other women from the church did a performance showing how we can shine our light for God.

Today we are leaving Puerto Rico. We are sad to leave the friends we’ve made this week but are excited to keep in touch and continue seeing what God has in store for them.
