Roxborough Church

After a long morning of travel, we officially arrived in Tulsa!  inPastor Shawn and Pastor KJ graciously opened their church for us to stay.

They met us and challenged us to expect miracles and to “Row The Boat” this week! We are so excited to see how God shows up!

Last night we had the opportunity to visit our PPM friends, Carissa and Adam! We met them on our first trip to Tulsa earlier this year. At the time, this trip was just a dream. How amazing to celebrate what God has put together to make this happen with our friends that have been there from the beginning!

Our very own Pastor Crawford had the opportunity to preach at Pastor Larry’s church this morning! He reminded us what it looks like to live faithfully in pursuit of the Lord in a world that is broken and in desperate need of a Savior!

Today we put on a block party with Shoulder2Shoulder ministries to reach Pastor Larry’s community. We handed out free food, groceries, clothing, and we even had live worship!

At first, we were a little discouraged because it didn’t seem like people were coming. But we were reminded of and encouraged by John 12:32 which says,

“And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to Myself.”

So with that, we began to praise Jesus and lift Him up! The more we praised, the more people came! How awesome is our God!?!

Before we started our ministry on Monday morning, the Shoulder 2 Shoulder team came to prep us for the day ahead. We gathered together in worship and the Word! It’s so vital to spend time glorifying our Father before we go out! We pour out to Him and He fills us with everything we need to GO!

After a lot of prep for ministry, we had a hard night. No one showed up at our event and to be honest, we were devastated. BUT GOD!

This is the reality of ministry sometimes. But God is good! We praised in and prayed over Pastor Larry’s church with our whole heart! We remembered John 12:32 from Sunday so we lifted Him up! We sang “Even when I don’t see it YOU ARE WORKING!” We prayed for chains of bondage to be broken in Jesus' name! He reminded us to be faithful and obedient even if His plan looks nothing like what we expected! His ways are higher than ours! Praise the Lord!

Tuesday morning we had the privilege of partnering with the North Star Bridge food bank. We had a blast packing food for people in the community!

We had another incredible opportunity to serve alongside Shoulder 2 Shoulder on Tuesday. The Lord has provided them with what they call “The Basement”. This is where they store all of the donations and equipment they use to serve the community. What a blessing!

On Tuesday Lily had the opportunity to pray over a stuffed bunny and the child that will receive it! What a beautiful way to teach compassion! 

After a long week filled with unique challenges as well as incredible blessings, we learned what it truly means to step out in obedience even when it doesn’t make sense. We can’t wait to see what the Lord has in store for Pastor Larry and His community and we’ll continue to pray bold prayers for lives to be impacted for Christ!
