Camp Eagle

Camp Eagle has arrived at Camp Pearl.  We are excited to attend church tomorrow and to meet our partners.

This morning we attended church at Mount Olive Baptist.  We listened to an amazing message and worshiped the Lord together! 

We are now getting ready to drive through Lake Charles and see some of the areas we will be working in tomorrow.

Camp Eagle is serving at Breath of Life Church today.  We are repainting many offices and hallways that are in need of a facelift. 

We have been prepping rooms with primer so that they can get painted tomorrow.  This room used to be a very bright red and tomorrow it will be a light tan. It will be a big change, we can't wait to see the end result!

The team is back at Breath of Life this morning.  The first project is putting a fresh coat of paint in some offices and prepping the hallways to be ready for paint.

Andre is working on sanding an office door before it can be painted. It is so fun to see this place brightened up!

We finished painting two offices and have moved on to painting the main hallway.  

It is starting to get a little tight, fitting 12 of us in one hallway has been a challenge, but we are making it work!

Working close to each other has started some interesting conversations and a lot of laughter!

We are serving at Abraham’s Tent this morning. Abraham's Tent is a soup kitchen & food pantry that serves 200 lunches 6 days a week to those who need it. 

This morning we are helping with meal prep and organizing the food pantry. They recently had a food drive and have an abundance of items that need to be sorted. What a great project to work on!

We are all finished at Abraham’s Tent!  We spent the morning organizing the food pantry and distributing meals.

We were amazed at the positivity and selflessness of everyone. We are headed back to Camp Pearl to work on some maintenance and tree clearing.

It will be a full day of serving, but our hearts are fuller knowing that we have shown Jesus' love in tangible ways!

We spent the morning "crabbing" just south of Lake Charles. 

To "crab," we tied a piece of meat to a string, dropped it in the water,  then slowly reeled it in when the crab held onto the meat....once you reel the crab in a little, you then catch it in a net.

Our resident expert crab fisherman was a 7 year named Lucas.  He taught us all of his tools of the trade. 

We are very excited to have a delicious crab boil for dinner!
