We made it to D.C. this evening. After a long day of travel, we got settled into our lodging at First Baptist Church of Waldorf and cannot wait to serve this week!!
We are excited to see the way God moves and works through each of us.

In our free time, the boys have enjoyed playing basketball with the other boys from Jamestown Presbyterian who are lodging with us this week.
We love these connections made between churches. They are family, fellow brothers and sisters in Christ.

We did some tedious work this morning. This morning we embarked on a joint project with Jamestown Presbyterian. Our team prepped the lobby for painting this week. That meant tape, tape, and more tape.

We took our lunch into DC this afternoon. Due to the road closures from the music festival this past weekend, we ended up not parking in our “usual” spot. That meant we got to find these nice tables and swings to have lunch at instead!!

This afternoon, we took our recreation day to downtown DC. We explored the Natural History Museum. We loved seeing the geology, ocean, and dinosaur exhibits, but the mummies were our favorite.
While leaving for the day, we met a man named Dean and had an amazing conversation loving on him and being encouraged and blessed by him.

This morning at Lifestyles the boys powered through a mountain of clothing. In the beginning we could barely get into the room but by the end we could see through to the other side. It may have been tedious, but we are excited to see all the clothes we sorted through out at the distribution event.

Last night (Wednesday), we enjoyed a laughter-filled time with the youth First Baptist Church of Waldorf. It was so cool to see the three churches (Jamestown Presbyterian, First Baptist Church and our church) come together and become the Church of Christ. We played intense dodgeball.
One of our favorites… playing mafia and underground church with Jamestown. We are so grateful for the bonds we have created. They are truly family to us, and we can’t play without them.

Huge thanks to First Baptist Church of Waldorf and Barbara for dinner tonight! It was great to have one last dinner with Jamestown group. We will definitely miss them, but know we always have a friends to see when we go to North Carolina.
