After a long day of travel, the team has arrived safely in Jackson and settled in for the night at our host church. We are looking forward to serving this week!

This morning we got to attend church and worship with our host church for the week, Madison United Methodist Church!

This afternoon we went to the Mississippi Civil Rights Museum as we learned about the history of the area and people we are serving this week.

We finished the day off by eating and hanging out with youth from our host church. It’s amazing to see people from different backgrounds be able to connect with one another through Christ!

Some of our team got to serve alongside Care Center by serving the local fire department! We also spent the afternoon at Canopy, a transitional home for children with difficult home situations, where we were able to hang out with the kids there and spend time with them. We didn't take any photos while there, as they are discouraged at Canopy in order to protect the resident's privacy.

Our team had a full day today! The team worked alongside our partner Care Center and Hilltop Church to serve the community of Jackson by picking up litter around the city, helping clean up a backyard, and clean out a house for families. We also got to go back to Canopy this afternoon to hang out with the kids!

Today we got to serve alongside members of Care Center and Hilltop Church as we participated in their soul snatchers ministry where we got to give away free food and prayer to the people of Jackson!

This afternoon was the team’s last day visiting at Canopy for the week. It was hard saying goodbye to all the kids we made strong connections with, but we are thankful for our new friends!

We are kicking off our last day by serving at Care Center! The team is working hard to build and plant a flower garden this morning!

As part of our rec day we enjoyed a fun afternoon of swimming at a church member’s pool.
