We had a wonderful first day of work, we had a little break down with our roller but we got it fixed quickly because we worked as a team. We spent the day sorting clothes, and washing down tables and chairs.

Today, we went to Simpson United Methodist Church and cleaned both the sanctuary and nursery.  We had a great time, and one of us even learned to use the vacuum for the first time.

Our group prepared a meal at the community kitchen for the community.  According to everyone's comments, we did a great job as everyone loved our spaghetti.  We did not want to leave as we bonded with the volunteers.

We were able to be kids today and cleaned the nursery. We disinfected all of it. After, we also dusted and cleaned another room. We also organized a storage room before spending some time with Ms Sandy. Mr. Jason was also wonderful in giving us guidance in what to do.

We spent the day making the church grounds more appealing. We bonded with Father throughout working. We removed weeds, trimmed hedges, and mulched several areas. We enjoyed our time outside and enjoyed getting to know each other.

This afternoon,  we washed long tables and chairs.  We had a great time getting to know Father Ledford and Barbara while working. The boys bonded with Father Ledford while helping him go through his garage.

As an added bonus, we went to the Grave Creek Indian Mound. We loved it, even though we had to climb up it. Just like our experiences in life, we have to keep going to experience the awesome view

Shepherd’s Pantry

Today we worked hard with Shepherd’s Pantry to distribute food, clothes, and toiletries to those who needed it in the community. A big thanks to Patty, James, Kris, Jim, Sheryl, and the rest of the dedicated volunteers for giving us the opportunity to serve alongside them.

This afternoon, we went to one of our favorite partners, which is Appalachian Outreach Incorporated.  We were able to use hand trucks  for the first time to move things. We also sorted several items. We also heard about their ministry.

Today we had the opportunity to go to Simpson United Methodist Church and help serve the community members that came in lunch.  We also helped organize their shelves making it easier to find food items needed to prepare meals.

This afternoon we had the opportunity to take a tour of the famous Moundsville Penitentiary.  We had an awesome tour guide who gave us many facts and let us see a few of the secret spots that others don't normally see.
