1st Presbyterian Church

Our team, First Presbyterian Church, arrived safely today after their two day trip to Pittsburgh! We are excited for ministry this week and are looking forward to worshiping with our host church, North Park Church, in the morning!

This morning we worshipped with our host church, North Park, before heading out for the day!

Today we ate lunch at Primanti Brothers, a Pittsburgh favorite! Their sandwiches come with your choice of meat, cheese, cole slaw, and french fries!

This morning we headed to North View Heights to hand out fliers for Kid's Meal Network  & promote our upcoming children's ministries this week in the community.

This afternoon the team headed out to Northhills Ministry to serve a local food bank, Loaves and Fishes. Our team served in a variety of ways, including sorting foods and teas, preparing dog and cat food, and helping to mop and clean the building. It was an awesome experience for everyone!

This morning we went to Crossroad Church to help with You Are Covered.  Some of us helped the landscape of the church, while others helped organize the clothing for You Are Covered. You Are Covered is an organization that helps people who are going through hard times. It helps by providing clothing and meals.

Kickball was really fun experience with the little kids. I hope we changed their lives. The kickball game was at Northview Heights

This morning our team headed out to Northside Common Ministries, the second largest food pantry in Pennsylvania. Out team divided into three groups to serve in the Kitchen, the Food Pantry, or in a painting project. The kitchen crew did a variety of smaller tasks from cleaning and setting the dining hall to scrubbing a freezer, the pantry crew assisted in pushing grocery carts to cars and helping unload food, and the painting crew stained a deck and wheelchair ramp.

Our team served lunch and had the chance to speak and interact with everyone who came for the hot meal that was served.

This afternoon, our team went to Northview Heights for a final day of ministry - more crafts were made, chalk masterpieces were created, and there were lots of games & snacks for the kids.

After the evening meal provided by Kid's Meal Network for children under 18, our group met with and prayed with Pastor D for Northview Heights and the upcoming summer of service and missions.

Our team spent their last day in Pittsburgh going on a prayer drive through Northview Heights, eating a meal together & visiting the Monongahela Incline, one of two inclines in Pittsburgh. They are now on their way back to Kansas!
