We made it!

Brainstorming and discussing ideas for kids ministry tomorrow! We're so excited to spend time with the kids at North View Heights the next couple of days! 

Our theme for this week is Fred Rogers, so tonight we are watching the documentary on his life. 

We had a full morning this morning! We cut grass, worked on the church, picked up trash, painted the bathroom, and so many other things. It was awesome to see the progress we made today, and we're excited to finish all the work projects up tomorrow morning! 

Today was our last morning working at North View Heights, and we got all of our projects done! We painted the front of the church, stained the picnic tables, painted some fence posts, finished mowing and weed-eating, and finished unscrewing all of the screws in the pews! 

It was a very busy morning, but it was awesome! 

Today a small part of the team broke off from the worksite to go serve in Etna. We met up with Mrs. Eileen who prepares and serves lunches everyday to whoever wants one. She sets up a table on the side of the road, and gives out a bag with a sandwich, fruit, chips, cookie, and a drink! 

We pray that this ministry continues to grow, and Mrs. Eileen and Mr. Bob continue to serve Jesus with all they have. 

We spent all morning at the Light of Life Rescue Mission warehouse. We sorted through and organized ALL of the clothes! 

Also, we found a pillow with a pelican on it! 

We played in the rain and had a water balloon fight today at North View Heights! It was a great way to end our time with the kids, but this prayer circle made it even better. Some of our team members grew close to the young man in this circle and right before we left he wanted a picture with all of his new friends. And then, they all gathered around and prayed for him! 

This morning we headed to Daily Bread ministries to serve with Bob. We cleaned bathrooms and windows, pulled up weeds, and cooked and served a meal. It was a great experience, and we loved getting to talk with the people who came in to eat! 

After we cleaned up at Daily Bread we went to the Heinz History Center, ate dinner at Primanti Brothers, had our last debrief, and celebrated Ethan's birthday with ice cream and brownies around the fire pit!
