Norkenzie Youth Group

We had the pleasure of worshiping with Iglesia Hispania this morning. Worship was done in both Spanish and English, making all feel at home in the house of the Living God! The congregation welcomed us with open arms and a homemade lunch afterwards, expressing their excitement for arrival and service to the congregation. God is doing a great work here and we are so blessed to be a part of it!

Our project this week will be repairing and restoring a building gifted to the local congregation. This church building is over 110 years old, and is historically a meeting place for the community.

While we were working today a member of the neighborhood approached us and expressed their love for the building and their gratitude for our efforts in its restoration. Pastor Ivan cannot wait to worship with his congregation in this beautiful and historic structure! Pray that we may be able to get the plumbing and electrical work completed that worship may once again fill this church.

Due to the church being derelict for many years, the entire exterior needs to be washed. The team is switching off power washing in the rain to come inside, dry off, and warm up.

Pastor Ivan has told us many times "This is the house of the Living God! We must treat it as such and it must be made beautiful!"

Although we won't be able to paint the whole building in just one week, we will be prepping and painting the entryway and front wall to breathe new life into the church!

To prep for some plumbing repair and maintenance, some of the team shoveled out a crawl space under the church affectionately called the "skunk pit" do to the presence of pungent skunk scent. Their attitudes were amazing, even while packed underneath a floor and in the dirt!
