Connection Church

David and myself have been confirming details with the local church pastors, Monika and Dariusz. We are looking forward to the great work you will do as you partner with the church in Elk this week!

After many hours of traveling, the team arrived safe and sound. We had the opportunity to hear from Pastors Monika and Dariusz about their church, community, and family. We are looking forward to a good week together serving the Lord.

At today’s Sunday service at the church in Elk we’ve been given an opportunity to serve the community with worship. We’ve picked three songs, and one of them performed partly in Polish. We’re grateful for the amazing moment of worshiping together in unity.

This morning we had another opportunity to serve the local community in a practical way. We spent this time repainting the church walls. Grateful for another chance to help together as a team.

This morning we had lots of fun doing a youth program with the group. The program included a short skit, followed by a more detailed story about the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Then we did some crafts, games and dances. 

The last day of ministry. We enjoyed working with the Youth and Kindergarten once again on Wednesday, the final day with them. We enjoyed a final dinner with our Host Pastors Monika and Dariusz. They shared of their challenges and successes reaching this quaint community of Elk, Poland. What a week it has been! Tomorrow we will enjoy one last breakfast with the couple, Jon and Michelle, from Dallas, TX and bid them adieu. What a fantastic week of service together! After that we are off to Warsaw for our recreation day and wrap-up meeting.

We couldn't resist this album cover shot as we toured the streets of Warsaw in the pouring rain. The weather was less than ideal but the adventure was well worth it. We meandered the shops of Old Town Warsaw before a sobering visit to the Polin Museum of the History of the Polish Jews; a sad and necessary reminder of the pain inflicted on Poland during the Nazi regime.

After this we had a fabulous dinner together at a local restaurant and later debriefed our week together.
