We have Arrived!

by Miriam Serna Sánchez | June 3, 2023 9:15 PM

Today is the first day of this adventure. We are excited to meet our host church.

We have Arrived!

God Presented Himself in Monte Sion

by Jorge Sun | June 5, 2023 12:19 AM

God presented Himself in Monte Sion

Today (Sunday) we had the general service at church, in which we had a some activities that helped us to connect with the local church.

We had testimonies, two worship songs and the message from the group leader Josh.

The thing that impressed us was how connected everything came to be with what the Pastor's wife shared during Sunday school before the service, and even how connected the songs and the testimonies were.

The songs were This is Our God and See a victory. We were reminded of how God loves who He is and also we think that this service was a victory in itself.

Buen Provecho

by Alvaro Medina | June 5, 2023 12:20 AM

Today we spent nice moments during lunch time with our brothers of Faith Baptist Church. We ate tasty fish tacos and soda for drinks while we shared about cool experiences that we have had in the past. We really enjoyed getting to know our brothers in Christ better and getting prepared for the next thing: To give glory to Jesus with our service in the local church here in Ensenada.

Luke 10:33-34

by Jorge Sun | June 6, 2023 1:55 AM

Today we went to the men's rehab center, and everyone learned something from just the experience of visiting that place. We sang worship songs together and we also shared some testimonies like yesterday.

When we got back we had a debrief meeting and the question was "how did God speak to you today?" and there was one answer that stood out : realizing the importance of getting out of your comfort zone to see the needs in the community and being moved to compassion by those needs. Just like the good Samaritan, he was out there and then he saw the need of that man and he was moved in his heart to compassion.

Sports and Friends

by Alvaro Medina | June 6, 2023 2:03 AM

Today (Monday) we had a great time playing some sports games; the youth of Faith Baptist Church played with the youth of Monte Sion church. It was good that we had the opportunity to play soccer, football and capture the flag with the youth from Ensenada.
Most of the youth are knowing Jesus more and more and we worked at letting them know that we love to be with them and they really enjoyed this time of sharing laughs and smiles with each other.

Work in Progress

by Miriam Serna Sánchez | June 7, 2023 2:01 AM

Today we help by painting and doing some renovations in the church.

We were inspired by pastor Raul, by his smile that is as big as his gratitude. He encourages us to strive through his example.

One Word

by Miriam Serna Sánchez | June 7, 2023 9:21 AM

It was our second day of ministry. God shows us that we need to take every opportunity to share his love.

When we arrived at the women's rehab center, we found them waiting for us. They were willing to hear just a word, something that could give them hope.

We share our testimonies. Sometimes we can feel embarrassed about our old selves. Our pasts are a hymn of victory, about grace overcoming the darkness.

We gave and received so much love.

El Mirador

by Alvaro Medina | June 7, 2023 9:36 AM

Today we visited the "El Mirador" where we saw the landscape of Ensenada’s bay. It was an exciting experience for most of us to be in such a beautiful place for the first time. We took a lot of photos. We enjoyed being together and having a good time there. Paul shared with us that he reflected on how a small group (us) could make a big difference in a large community.

There are no Coincidences in the Kingdom of God

by Jorge Sun | June 7, 2023 9:41 AM

So today we had another general service at church. We were in charge of worship and we had 4 songs in Spanish. We also had testimonies, and Josh (the group leader) shared the Word with the congregation.

The big surprise was almost at the end of the service, when Pastor Raúl told us that what Josh had preached about was exactly what we had shared two weeks ago, so it was confirmation that the Word of the Church, the passage we learned about today was 1 Peter 5:6-11.

Morning Devo

by Miriam Serna Sánchez | June 7, 2023 9:48 AM

“I seek you with all my heart; do not let me stray from your commands. I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you. Praise be to you, Lord; teach me your decrees.”

Table is Ready

by Miriam Serna Sánchez | June 7, 2023 12:16 PM

The family gathered around the table. We feel enormous gratitude for being able to eat delicious dishes every day. At the table, we feed our bodies with food and our soul with good talk.

We Can't Wait!!

by Miriam Serna Sánchez | June 7, 2023 6:24 PM

In a couple of hours it is our youth service. We already love this beautiful group. We are enthusiastic about how God will speak to them.

God has tremendous plans for each of them.

Be Humble

by Alvaro Medina | June 8, 2023 8:20 AM

This Wednesday we visited the men's rehab center. It was a fantastic time when we could see the Holy Spirit working because the men of the rehab center worshiped God with their hearts and some of them were broken because of the presence of God. We could see how God was in that place even before we got there.

During this visit, we shared some testimonies, one of the youths said that he had gone through one situation like those men there in the rehab center because he spent two years in a place where he could not go out and that was something that those men can relate to their life. God touched their hearts through that testimony. Pastor Raul Delgadillo preached the importance to stay in Jesus and how important is to be humble and recognize the need for help from others and from God which is the most important thing.

Prayer Walk

by Miriam Serna Sánchez | June 8, 2023 8:36 AM

We have the opportunity to walk around the community. We pray over their schools, for the teachers, parents, and kids. We pray that they can find a light of hope in Jesus.

Love Reminder

by Miriam Serna Sánchez | June 8, 2023 9:56 AM

We bless some of the families of the youth. Most of their parents don't attend church, but they allow their children to come.

We hope they may know we care about them but overall this could be a reminder of how much God loves them.

Some Last Times and some First Times

by Jorge Sun | June 8, 2023 10:01 AM

Today we had our last service at Pastor Raul's Church. It was a youth service and it really felt like a grand finale. We had lots of fun, lots of stories, but most importantly, we had someone that came for the first time to the church.

We just pray and hope that even though it was our last service at Monte Sion the new kid just keeps coming to church, and that today becomes a first in many other times.

La Bufadora

by Miriam Serna Sánchez | June 9, 2023 9:37 AM

We visited the Market in “La Bufadora." All the way to get there we enjoyed the incredible landscapes. We saw one of the most famous attractions in the city, a sea geyser(Blow hole), and we bought souvenirs to take home.

We took our last chance to eat tacos before we left.

We were able to spend a few hours on the beach. We enjoyed swimming for the first time in the Pacific Ocean.

Lastly and most importantly, we had our celebration dinner with Pastor Raúl and his family. It was a beautiful time. We were able to express all our gratitude and how much we love the pastor, his family, and his congregation. We carry all our brothers and sisters in our hearts.
