Atticus

We started off our trip with celebrating the Fourth of July in downtown DC! We went to the National Museum of Natural History, watched a bit of the parade, saw the Minions movie, hung out on the National Mall, and even got to see the fireworks! It was a fun day and we are excited to start serving!

We took a break in the middle of the day to rest a little and watch the Minions movie!

Today we served at Hughes United Methodist Church and helped with food distribution! People come in with different colored cards and they get a certain amount of food depending on what color card they have. It was so much fun meeting and serving them!

Today we made sandwiches and gave them to an organization called Martha’s Kitchen! Martha’s Kitchen is where they serve over 200 hot meals for those who need them! They also hand out sandwiches that people bring in! 

Today at the fun day, the kids played games and drew on the sidewalk with chalk! There were so many pretty drawings and the kids had so much fun!

To end the day, we played Pictionary with words relating to the Gospel, and then Wade explained the words and shared the Gospel with the kids! God is moving and working in this place!

Today we had a fun day playing water games! We played a game called drip drip drop, which is duck duck goose but with water! The kids also played in the mini pool which was fun!

We played another game where each team had to squeeze out a sponge into a bucket to see who filled it more in three minutes. It was a lot of fun and super competitive!
