The area we traveled to our village had a storm about one month ago that washed out part of the road; our big bus could not travel the last 5 miles, therefore we reloaded onto a smaller local bus for the last leg of our journey :)

Many people from the small village of Polo Arriba met us at the church for a brief welcome ceremony along with a snack of fresh bananas and mango - - - - SWEET :) :)

At Sunday School we shared in music and the story of creation. The children enjoyed making pictures of themselves - - - God created us :)

The community members showed up in great numbers to learn of the water filters. During the week, we will be installing 36 water-filters into homes.

Sunday afternoon we walked throughout the community, greeting people, and inviting them to church and VBS :)

Monday morning we began construction for a kitchen addition to the church - - - providing food to families in need is a vision of the Pastora.

Bending rebar and wiring the pieces together to make several long support frames was Monday mornings main construction project :)

We hand drilled the holes in the buckets to put the water-filters into place.

We interviewed each family that is receiving a water filter; and discovered that many families are experiencing parasites and frequent headaches.

We spent time with each family showing them how the water filter works and how to maintain and clean the filter.

This family received a water-filter today - - - - no more need to buy water to drink, the money saved can be used to buy food to feed the hungry family :)

Many of the local men work in agriculture, planting and harvesting coffee. This farmer is going to the field to plant small coffee trees. It will take four years before these small plants produce coffee beans.

Cement is hauled bucket by bucket up the ladder to be poured along the top of the kitchen wall :)

Collecting water for the family at their source of water - - - the water is not good to drink, however, their new water-filter will purify this water for the family to use for cooking and drinking :)

Another family feels blessed to have received a water-filter today - - - no more parasites due to drinking bad water :) Gloria a Dios!!!

The children run down the rocky roads to join us for children's ministry - - - sharing in song, Bible stories, crafts and games :)
