Yesterday we went on a cultural tour of downtown Portland. We experienced the city, ate some food and learned a lot about the Pacific Northwest and Portland culture.

This afternoon the team walked the campus of Portland State University in partnership with Northwest Collegiate Ministries and surveyed the student population concerning their spiritual lives. The data collected will inform their future ministry on campus, ensuring that they can most effectively reach the students for Christ.

Tonight we are wrapping chocolate for a local family-owned chocolate shop. Our partner pastor introduced us to the chocolate shop and we are sharing the love of Jesus with this family by helping them wrap the candy. We can get this done in a few hours that would usually take them days. What a blessing.

Once again we are walking the PSU campus and collecting data on the community and spirituality of the student body. We have found that many students feel isolated and without community or meaningful connection. Pray that God will empower Northwest Collegiate Ministries to facilitate belonging and hope on Campus!

Every day after our time on campus we gather to discuss our experiences, to share how we saw God moving, and to pray for those we talked with and interviewed. Every name of those we interviewed is listed and we pray that God will use our conversations to show Christ in this community.

Partnering with Union Gospel Mission (UGM), we sorted, organized, and prepared clothing for the homeless. Clean, warm, and dry garments serve a threefold purpose to provide protection from the elements, dignity for the "last, least, and lost", and a tangible example of Christ's love.

Our team was able to beautify our host church by replanting flowers and cleaning the gutters, ensuring that Solid Rock Baptist Church remains a welcome refuge and reflection of Christ for the community they serve!
