Made it to Cabo!

by Adriana Leal Espinoza | March 1, 2024 4:15 PM

We are so excited that we are finally here! We were welcomed to our lodging, ready to settle in, and then we will head downtown for a cultural walking tour. After that, we will enjoy a delicious dinner! God is good, and we look forward to our adventure during this mission trip in Mexico.

Made it to Cabo!

A Warm Cabo Welcome!

by Adriana Leal Espinoza | March 1, 2024 10:14 PM

Hey everyone,

Day one of our mission trip in Cabo was a total win!

We got the warmest welcome from the staff with some great sandwiches.

After settling into our cozy lodging, we kicked back with some snacks and hit the pool for some chill time. Then, dinner happened – and if you've never tried bistec ranchero, you're missing out on a Mexican delight! And to cap it off, we took a stroll downtown, soaking in the sights and sounds of the city.

It's been a solid start, and we're already feeling the buzz for what's to come. Tomorrow holds big things, and we're all in, ready to serve God with everything we've got.

Stay tuned for more adventures – we're just getting started!

Work Sites

by Miriam Serna | March 2, 2024 3:04 PM

It is the second day in this beautiful city, and we are fresh after a night of rest.

This morning, we had a delicious breakfast, and after that, we prepared to start the day closer to the Lord with our devotional. We believe this week will bring challenges, and we wonder if we should explore our faith differently.

Today, we visited the work sites where we will serve this week, and we met some of the leaders with whom we will collaborate. The first view of the community excites us, anticipating the adventure and new learning that await us.

What’s Cooking?

by Miriam Serna | March 3, 2024 12:32 AM

A lot of things happened today. We had a Mexican cooking class. We learned to make Sopes from scratch. It was great to have dinner that we made with our own hands and that actually tasted good. We are discovering hidden talents; now we have a new skill to add to our resume.
We enjoyed a very fun afternoon with the youth of Harvest Church. We played, we shared our testimonies, remembering the moment when Jesus became real in our lives. We listened to God speaking to our hearts today. Singing together in English and Spanish, and realizing it's amazing when we worship the same God.
We are salt, we are light, we are loved and chosen children. We are called to be agents of change and make the light of Jesus shine wherever we are.

A Taste of Heaven and Cabo Adventures 🌊

by Adriana Leal Espinoza | March 3, 2024 10:36 PM

Today was a great day! We kicked things off by heading to Pastor Ramón's church, Harvest Church. Worship in both English and Spanish felt like a slice of heaven right here on Earth. Lainey blew us away with her testimony, and guess what? She delivered it in Spanish! We are so proud of her.

Keith Cote shared an inspiring message that reminded us of God's gentle yoke and light burden. That was some soul food right there!

Post-church, we fueled up with some mouthwatering chilaquiles – yum! Then, we geared up for an adventure at the Cabo Arch area. Beaches, fish, pelicans, sea lions, and even whales – we saw it all! God's creation is nothing short of breathtaking.

Needless to say, today was an absolute blast. Can't wait to see what tomorrow brings!

Stay tuned for more adventures,

VBS Day 1

by Miriam Serna | March 4, 2024 11:03 PM

Today we divided into two teams to serve at the “Casa de vida” Church and at “Sermon del Monte” Church. We walked around the neighborhood a little to invite children to the VBS.

The morning went by quickly as we played soccer, had Bible class, crafts  and songs. It was a lot of fun learning Spanish songs and dancing with the kids.

At Casa de Vida Church, besides the VBS, we also helped with cleaning projects.

After this hard work, we had a great reward: delicious pizza for dinner at Cabo Marina with a great view.

It's time to sleep. Tomorrow we will chase the sunrise.

VBS Day 1

Good Morning Mr. Sun

by Miriam Serna Sánchez | March 5, 2024 10:13 AM

We made it! we watch the sunrise at the Beach. Getting up so early in the morning was definitely worth it. We arrived while it was still dark, the sky turning pink, and  then Mr. Sun finally showed up.

We were able to have a moment of praise together and then a quick dip in warm water. What a great way to start the day.

A Day of Joy and Chains Broken

by Adriana Leal Espinoza | March 6, 2024 12:15 AM

What a day we've had here in Cabo, and we couldn't wait to share the details!

So, we kicked off our day spreading some love at Casa de Vida and Sermón del Monte. We did VBS, and it was like a burst of joy hit the place.

The kids? They were super stoked and totally into it. We dove into some real talk during the Bible lesson about sin and the epic God´s forgiveness. We even got our craft on, creating these symbolic chains of sin. The highlight? Watching the kiddos march through and break those chains.

And then came the snacks – sandwiches, treats, and juice. Those little kids just didn't want to stop hanging out with us. Games, giggles, and good times all around!

Sure, we were dead on our feet after VBS and diving into some cleaning projects, but the tiredness? Totally worth it. Seeing those smiles, feeling the energy, and knowing we're a small part of something big – that's the real deal.

Wrapping it up with a View

by Adriana Leal Espinoza | March 6, 2024 12:21 AM

We decided to go all out and burn the last bit of our energy with a hike! 🏞️ The view at the top? Pure magic. God's goodness all around us.

Feeling blessed and tired in the best way possible.

It's a Beach Day!

by Miriam Serna | March 6, 2024 7:00 PM

A warm day at the beach in Cabo. Swimming and playing volleyball was fun. We even took a surfing class and did well the first time. We rode some waves in the Pacific Ocean. We were also able to do surf fishing, catching a small rusterfish. Unfortunately, it was not enough to prepare dinner.

Wrapping Up with Love and Memories

by Adriana Leal Espinoza | March 7, 2024 4:57 PM

Today marked our last full day of ministry here, and we had a great time!

Casa de Vida and Sermón del Monte welcomed us with open arms for some serious Kids Ministry action. We poured out every ounce of energy we had, and you know what? It was worth it.

Dancing, crafting, and gaming our hearts out – that's how we rolled. The Bible story was about those four friends and the paralytic man, showing us why following Jesus is where it's at.

Saying goodbye? Yeah, that hit us right in the feels. But hey, God's in charge, and His plans? They're golden. We planted seeds, and we're trusting Him to make 'em grow.

Farewell, Friends

by Adriana Leal Espinoza | March 7, 2024 11:58 PM

Today we had a bittersweet goodbye as we bid farewell to Pastor Ramón, his amazing wife Venecia, and the incredible cooks who kept our bellies happy all week long.

God really blessed us with their presence and the beautiful example they set for loving and serving Him. We took a moment to lift them up in prayer, thanking God for their lives and the awesome ministry they're doing in Cabo!

Farewell, Friends

Adiós, Cabo!

by Adriana Leal Espinoza | March 8, 2024 12:14 AM

Wrapping it up here in Cabo, and what a ride it's been! Grateful to God for this epic opportunity to serve and learn in Mexico.

As we bid farewell, prayers up for keeping the lessons from this week alive in our hearts. Ended things on a high note with some fun in San José.

Adiós, Cabo!
