St. Lukes Church

The team arrived a little after seven as they stopped to enjoy Memphis’ famous barbecue  for dinner. 

Pastor Joyce took us around downtown Memphis and showed us some of the forgotten history. We prayed at the sites asking for healing and unity in this community. 

This morning, we split up to tackle different projects. One group worked at the Monument of Love, and the other addressed, sorted, and counted envelopes for Calvary Rescue Mission! 

We had an awesome time playing dodgeball and kickball with the kids at Oasis of Hope!

We took the time to bless our host church by cleaning and mopping the floors in the church as well as picking up trash in the parking lot. 

Serving the community with love is what it’s all about at Limit Breaker Church in Memphis. The Rock Development food pantry is just one of the ministries where we helped serve this afternoon. 

One group repainted the walls at the Monument of Love church. They did an amazing job! 

Ms Judy was so excited to see us and appreciated all our help but she was more excited about the time of fellowship we had. Encouraging her and praying for her was a sweet time for everyone. 

We made dinner for the men and staff at Calvary Rescue Mission. We had fruit salad, hamburgers, hotdogs, chili, beans and chips on our menu! 

Our team led in worship with the men at Calvary. It was such an honor to share God’s love in song and devotion. 

Butteriffic’s cookies were fantastic! We loved this sweet treat after lunch at Central Barbeque. Then we headed out to the Memphis Zoo. 

Even though we had great ministries and opportunity of service, we learned that the most important mission was taking the time to get to know the people.  Ultimately that is what matters most in life.
