We had a meeting to plan out the projects ahead of us this week. Then we got to help reorganize and take inventory of the supplies. The church has to know what supplies might still be needed.

We are being well cared for and fed by Mamma T. She is fixing all the good southern food. There have been many first tries of food.

Another project we found ourselves doing today was painting the ceiling for an older lady in the community. She shared stories all the while we worked. We are learning about being a presence in the lives of the community sometimes means just being a listening ear.

We spent the morning helping break down roofs. It was a learning experience on how to use crowbars and sledgehammers.

We are busy this afternoon working on building an outdoor space for our host church. The church dreams to have community gatherings outside as well as inside. The wood is reused wood from bunk beds that were no longer needed.

Tonight we gathered around a bonfire for devotion. It started out with a testimony from Mamma Tiff (our fantastic cook). She shared how God has answered so many prayers. With devotions we heard how it is about being prepared to experience what you prayed for. We are learning just how much God has prepared in advance for us the experiences and people of Grand Isle.

This morning we had some free time for boating and fishing. Jon reeled in a big black drum! The squeals and excitement could not be contained.

We finished out the day with a sunset over the intercoastal. From sunrise to sunset we were soaking up the beauty of Grand Isle and friendships.

We are working on projects all over our host church. Right now we are learning how to take down a wall to open up some space.

The host church needed more storage space. We worked to frame and put up drywall in the attic space.

We found ourselves some saltwater serenity down here in Louisiana. Tonight at final devotion, we prayed for each other. Be sure to ask about it when we get home. Perhaps the sweetest highlight was how much we enjoyed the community of Grand Isle. Everywhere we looked we saw God. We were blessed right along with the people we served.

What a week! As we leave, not only is a part of our hearts staying behind, but so are our fingerprints. There will always be a part of us here in Grand Isle and with each other. It has been an honor to serve together.
