The team has safely arrived from Michigan! Today, we got to join Wintergarden Presbyterian Church for service. It was so fun to join this community in worship this morning. 

Today was the day of rest. We got into our goofy tshirts and headed off to the ocean. We went to Fort Myers to see the devastation from the Hurricane to get perspective for the week. Then headed off to the beach to relax and hang out by the water. It was a great day of rest before a hard work week. 

We enjoyed some food together around the table, family style. We played telephone and the writing on each other’s backs version of telephone, which we were quite unsuccessful with. We never got the word right. There were good laughs and so much joy shared around the dinner table tonight. 

This morning we served at Bethel AME, taking down the rotted wood paneling and tearing out the carpet. We crushed this project in 2 hours, did an awesome job, and had a fun time doing it. 

This afternoon, we helped at Mr. Craig’s house mudding and taping the ceiling. We finished three rooms! So thankful to be able to help out another family in this community. 

This morning part of us helped with food pantry prep at Wintergarden. We got a system down and knocked out over 200 boxes. 

This afternoon, part of us cleaned up the walls of Wintergarden Church after being a construction zone for 10 months. So nice to see the church all spiffy and clean again. 

Yesterday a group of us we partnered with Habitat for Humanity in Port Charlotte.

Some of us installed support brackets for the ceiling.

We finished the framework for the ceiling and started to foam the walls.

Today was Pantry Day and our last work day! We worked super hard in the hot Sun for over 7 hours. We got a roll down and served probably around 350 families, potentially more! Thankful for this community and how they serve each other in times of need.
