Community United Methodist Church

After traveling yesterday we were able to join Anthem for their church service! Pastor Steve gave a great message and we are excited to start working later today! 

Today, we helped to gut a house by taking out tile. We worked super hard and got two rooms done. Now onto another round tomorrow and pulling out plywood! 

Last night, we got to hang out at our host church and celebrate Fourth of July with the community. It was a night full of fun, food, and fireworks. 

Monday morning we got started right away pulling up more tile and even got to start pulling up floor boards! It was great to be able to work at a team to accomplish a lot today! 

Today, we got to work alongside the other team that is here with us to help demo the house. Our time consisted of breaking down walls, knocking out cupboards, taking out bathroom appliances, breaking tiles, taking out the floor, and more! Such a blessing to all be able to work all together as one unit. 

Today was the last day of service work, where we crushed it on continuing to demo the house. We got most of the floors ripped up and started to clean up also. Sadly, our workday got cut short by the lightning and rain, but thankful we got to serve these house owners in this way. It was also super fun to work alongside the other team to accomplish all that got done. Awesome things were completed on our last day!

Tonight, we got to play a strategic war game with the youth of Anthem Church. It was so fun to mingle with the kids from this community and play games together. 

After a long day of relaxation and fun at a putt putt and the beach; we completed the final meeting and this week has come to an end. It was such a joy to work alongside these people being the hands and feet of Jesus. Thankful for this opportunity to grow deeper with one another and Jesus.
