Cottonwood Church

Our first afternoon of service has begun. We split into 3 groups this afternoon. One group headed to a local house to work on flooring installation and crown molding.

 The homeowner said he is so happy to be able to sleep in his bedroom after 9 months of using his living room as his bedroom.

Today the team worked on weeding the gardens at Wintergarden Church. These flower beds supply food for the food pantry that helps to feed over 400 families. 

The flooring team from yesterday is finishing up today. They have done an amazing job on installation and molding. Many of them learned how to use power saws and nail guns. Hopefully will finish this up before lunch and then meet up with another group doing drywall just down the road.

Today part of the team worked on installing insulation and drywall for a local family. They have been waiting months for insulation and drywall to be up to turn on the AC.

Sunday part of our group went along the road the church has adopted and picked up trash and debris. We found some very interesting things! 

Each night before we go to bed we gather in the library to hear a story from Grant! This has been a great way to end our day the first couple nights. 

Back to work we go. Had a nice rest day yesterday and now back to worksites we go. More drywall today of course, and everyone is motivated to finish our projects for these homeowners.

Wednesday part of our team went back to a community member’s home to keep working on drywall for their house. We have one more day tomorrow and are hoping to finish the job! 

Today some of the team stayed behind at Wintergarden church to prep kits for the food pantry on Thursday. 

It is our last work day!! One of our groups is back down in Cape Coral for their final day of drywall. They want to finish this drywall project.

They are the third ppm team to work on this house over the last month and we are so close to the finish line!!

Sorting all the produce that comes in to make sure it’s good quality to give out to the families visiting the food pantry today. 

The last day of work and the girls who worked at the food pantry killed it. They fed hundreds of families today and never let the heat or humidity slow them down. 

On our last work day a group went back to the community member’s house and finished the drywall for the ceiling. They we so grateful and we were so glad we could help them this week!
