Grace ECC

We made it to Friendship Community Baptist Church late this afternoon and have been getting settled in! The church is awesome, we had a tour and got to pray with Pastor Fred when we first got here! We’re super excited to be here, in this picture we had our first meeting to go over the awesome things we’ll be doing at FCBC this week!

We really enjoyed being a part of FCBC’s service this morning! The church has been so helpful and welcoming during our stay so far. The sermon and worship was incredible and we loved getting to know some church members who are very excited to see us here!

We loved walking through DC today and looking at the monuments together and building our teams relationship! 

This morning we started our day at the Museum of the Bible! We got to explore some awesome exhibits and presentations. We really enjoyed the immersive videos and walk through productions of some Old Testament information! We used this time to build relationships on our team and really dive into some cool topics in the Bible!

We had a fun time working for Betty today, a church member whose husband is getting surgery this week and needs lots of yard work done. We loved getting to know Betty and saw the joy of the Lord working in her! 

We loved VBS last night. A highlight was the energy from this group! The basketball group did some awesome drills and had a fun time learning at VBS! These kids are awesome and we’ve seen how God is moving in FCBC youth and this VBS!

We loved helping with the dance group at FCBC’s VBS. We made friends with a lot of the participants, they were all really energetic and happy to be there learning about Christ and having fun together! 

This morning we got to go to downtown Washington DC to see the Air and Space museum and the Natural History Museum! We had fun conversation and enjoyed learning together during our time in the city!

Today for lunch we had an awesome meal from pastor Fred! Shrimp, crab bites and fried fish were just a few of the many amazing dishes he put together for us. Evan and Emma from our group also helped him and learned a thing or two about preparing seafood! We’re so thankful for him and his hospitality towards us this week!

We have loved getting to help lead and do slides for worship during VBS this week! We have acquired some new skills doing sound and light for the week. It’s been so cool helping out!

Tonight we loved going to a church family’s  house for awesome worship and our devotional time. They’ve been so helpful this week allowing us to shower at their home! We really enjoyed this last night in fellowship with them! 

We got to spend this morning out on Chesapeake Bay! We had fun in kayaks and canoes. The jelly fish were everywhere but we had a fun and peaceful morning out on the water!

We said goodbye to our new friends at Friendship Community Baptist today. We’re sad to go but so so excited for the amazing work Christ did through them and our partnership with them this week! Here we are getting prayed over by their VBS volunteer team! In VBS and serving in church members homes we experienced the love and joy of Christ! What an awesome week!
