FMC Sr. High Youth Group

Today the team helped a community member put up a temporary fence around his yard. The joy of the homeowner really rubbed off and encouraged the team getting them ready for the week. 

Today, we heard from Pastor Devon from Wintergarden Presbyterian about the devastating impact that Hurricane Ian had on their community. It was so impactful to hear the story about where we are working this week. We are so thankful for our brothers and sisters at Wintergarden and eager to serve them in whatever way they need. 

Today the team placed new sod down for a local pastor. Placing the sod will help prevent future flood waters from carrying away the sediment and soil.

Today part of the group helped to clean up Wintergarden Ave by picking up debris from the hurricane. What a great day to help serve the community in this way. 

The group finished up the middle island today at Wintergarden. It looks so healthy and new. Thankful for the hard workers for getting this project done. 

Today, part of the group went to the Homeless Coalition. We were able to help pack some emergency food bags, help prepare for lunch, organize the pantry, and serve lunch to people in the community that are experiencing homelessness.  

This team has done an excellent job of working together to get jobs done.

The local pastor who is building this home lost everything in the hurricane. He has an amazing story of perseverance and God’s grace. The team has rallied behind him and his family to accomplish big things this week. Taking the braces off this home is going to allow them to move into the next step in the building process.

Today the team worked at Wintergarden’s food pantry. They packed boxes of food and loaded it into the cars as they pulled up. Today over 400 families were fed with the help of this team.

We got to serve at the Homeless Coalition again today. Helped to serve over 50 individuals and some kids.
