Salem Student Ministries

We arrived in Lake Charles at 3:40 this afternoon. Almando and  Daniel from Praying Pelican Missions and Reverend Drew met us at St Michael and gave us a tour of the church where we are staying for the time we are here.

We also met Pastor Braylon who is the president of Southwest Louisiana Responds, which is a coalition of churches that is helping the region recover from the last disasters. 

We are blessed to be a part of the wonderful work the Lord is doing here through His people. 

We look forward to a great couple of days.

Today we started making improvements to a wheel chair ramp for a local, making it safer for him, and his family.

This morning half of our team tackled the remaining work on the ramp for Mr. Marl. Working to complete the spindles and the steps.

We learned that the church had planned to fellowship and treat us to a meal the moment they heard we were coming. 

They proved it this evening. We were treated to some amazing and delicious homemade dishes. We had the opportunity to share about the work we did and get to know many of the church members who came to meet us. 

What a beautiful thing to see the body of Christ coming together!
