Lakeview Christian Academy

We are on our first project site today. We are serving in a community that was ravaged by Hurricane Ian. The homes need to be completely gutted and stripped, in order to even begin the rehab process. The homeowners have been displaced for over six months now. We are hopeful to help complete this task and facilitate next steps happening.

Today we worked to pull up nails and staples so that they can begin rebuilding this home!

We got to join our host church, Anthem Church of the Nazarene, for their weekly pickle ball games. We learned the rules and had an awesome time fellowshipping with the church. We had some very competitive games, but the main thing is, we had a lot of fun and made new friends. 

Today we are back, cleaning up all of the leftover flooring that fell underneath the house while we were doing demo yesterday.

Yesterday we had the opportunity to partner with Community Cooperative in a volunteer car wash!

Community Cooperative is a local food pantry that serves the Lee County area. They provide canned, dry, and fresh food for people’s pantries, as well as fresh meals for programs like Meals on Wheels and lunches for local schools. They also provide a hot meal for anyone who is hungry right from their cafe! This amazing organization has a massive impact on their community but they couldn’t do it with their local volunteers!

Through this car wash we were able to bless the amazing people that do the Meals on Wheels delivery! How amazing to give back to those that give so much to better their own communities!!

Today we’re back to gutting houses! We’re excited to see all of the progress that’s been made!

The girl’s have officially moved on to house #3! This one they’re starting from the beginning which is super exciting!
