Lakeside Community Church

After a long day of travel our team made it to Oxboro Community Church! We’re ready and excited for a week of service! 

We found friendship with the students at Hospitality House Youth Development this morning! Summer academic programs are up and running for these students! 

Big smiles from Bryan and Aaron during a game of Mighty Mighty Scoop Noodle Challenge! For the afternoon, we got to accompany the students from Hospitality House to a sports camp hosted by FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes). We loved being active with the kids!

Today after a full morning of academics we had the opportunity to participate in FCA’s football camp! The kids we were with had a great time learning about football at 6 different stations before transitioning into a devotional and learning more about God! 

After Hospitality House today we were able to see the PPM office and volunteer at Feed My Starving Children! We packaged over 23,000 meals in just under an hour, feeding 65 kids for an entire year! As the food was prepared for shipping we were able to pray over the boxes with the staff! 

Today is our last day serving at Hospitality House, so we are making the most of this time with the kids! We spent the morning helping them develop their math and reading skills. This afternoon, we get to enjoy some free time and play games together!

Our time serving at Hospitality House ended with prayer together. We are thanking God for what He is doing in kids' lives through this ministry and for the blessing of being a small part of it!

For our last full day together, we got to enjoy the zoo, Juicy Lucys (cheese-stuffed burgers - a Minneapolis original!), and the lake. We closed out our day as we have each evening: by worshiping, debriefing, and studying God's Word. What an amazing week it's been!

As we prepare to head home after a fruitful week, we say our mournful “goodbyes.” We know that God has blessed our time here this week- which is evident through both the ministries that we served in and the growth that we saw in our team. Until next time, Minneapolis!
