It was a blessing to join New Colony Baptist Church for Father's Day. We had a great service reminding us of God's design for the family, the impact of a Godly father, and the blessing and not burden that children are in our lives. We also were taught to use our talents and abilities for good and to help others. After the service, we had some amazing weather and food. The church had a cookout/pot luck and it was an honor to join them. It is wonderful to partner with such a friendly and welcoming church this week.

Weeding feels like a losing battle at times, just like life, but we know we can do all things through Christ who gives us strength (Phillipians 4:13). And in Christ we are more than conquerors (Romans 8:37). Monday Morning we conquered the gardens at the church. Making them a fresh slate. Just like God has washed away our sin and made us a new creature. Old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new (2 Corinthians 5:17)

During our recreation day we first enjoyed our time at Quincy Market. After shopping and eating lunch there, we headed to the waterfront. The water was nice to enjoy for the day, but Jesus is the living water, and we get to enjoy Him for all of eternity.

We took the voyage across the water and back on a ferry. We got to tour the USS Constitution before coming back. It was a reminder that our words are like a rudder that directs a strong ship. We should glorify God through all that we say. Our lives will be directed to a better place if we do.
James 3:4

We spent all week preparing for this moment. Passing out fliers, cleaning the church, and landscaping and gardening. Now was the time, we each were given a role to help with the party, but even though we all had a different job, we all had the same calling to be a light for Jesus Christ in the community.
