We have arrived here in Tulsa, Oklahoma at Zion community church where we will be lodging for this week of mission! We are so excited for the week of serving the community of Wesley Chapel in North Tulsa!

This morning we had the wonderful opportunity to attend both services at Wesley Chapel! In the first service we got a great lesson on knowing Jesus on a personal level in our lives. In the second service we had Anna Beach give a lesson on bringing God to our table and keeping the enemy away by mindfulness in everything we do! Anna also shared with the team what Wesley’s ministry is and what we will be doing a bit this week to come!

After church and a nice shower the team had a bit of flex time so we went to the gathering place! At the gathering place, since it is so hot, we stayed inside and played card games and made friendships bracelets!

We took the Wesley teen leaders on a tour of Langston University, the only HBCU in Oklahoma and the farthest west HBCU in the country.

At our team meeting Pastor Larry came and shared a part of his Testimony and encouraged our teams to push forward this week and to keep the mission flowing even when they head home after this week.

After a long first day of ministry we took our teams out for ice cream at Oklahoma’s own Braum’s which is a fan favorite for ice cream! What a great time for fellowship and planning for our next day's work!

This morning we had worship and a good word from 1 John 4:16 “and so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.” The theme of the week is that God’s love Heals!

Today we worked with the Wesley teens to clean and organize the church from kids camp to get it ready for the after school program that starts in a few weeks! They cleaned the library, pizza factory, teen room, chapel, and the craft room! It was a successful day of cleaning today!

We did some intense cleaning today. We got into the nitty gritty and even through the cleaning of toilets which is no ones favorite we still laughed through the work and made the most of it and had the most amazing time serving together. The difference in a few hours of cleaning and thirty people helping we made a huge difference!!!

Today since it was 105° we went to a local pool and had the most amazing time swimming, playing football, and eating little ice cream things by the pool!!!

Tonight we got to hear Pastor Chris's testimony and learn a bit more about the why and how of Wesley Chapel. Pastor Chris shared how he gave his life to Christ and how it changed his life. He shared with us the story about how the summer camp came to be and how far the camp has come in the last 14 years and the growth that has been made!!!

Today we were at Youth Works Ranch doing some cleaning of trade town and getting it ready to do the turnaround from summer camp to after school program! We had so much fun working with the teens and praying for one another!

There are not many activities we want to do in this 105° heat here in Tulsa so the pool is an obvious choose when it’s hot here! The pool with the teens was so much fun today they had many races to the top of the rock wall!

Pastor Kujanga is the pastor here at Zion Community Church and we got to pray for him and his ministry after we heard from him and key members of his church who shared with us and asked us to share our stories from this week. It was a great night!
