Aldersgate United Methodist Church

We have landed here on the beautiful island of Puerto Rico. We are ready to see what God has in store for us this week and how we can do ministry to serve and learn from others!

Today we were at the Defensores de la Fe la Nueva Cosecha Church in Cupey. They talked about how God healed the blindness and also how he healed the woman with the issue of blood.

This afternoon we spent some time walking around the town plaza of Trujillo Alto and praying over the mayor's office and some of the neighbors there. This is truly what it looks like to be the hands and feet of Jesus as we step outside of our comfort zones.

After breakfast this morning we are hard at work clearing weeds from behind the church building. Everything we are doing this week will help the church look more beautiful to the community!

We are scraping the loose paint off of the walls of the church. Tomorrow we will be able to begin exterior painting!

To wrap up our work we are dancing to some upbeat tunes. We have so much joy doing the Lord's work!

After working very hard we had a moment to enjoy some great frappes. Yum!

A few more clumps of grass and weeds are left to clean up in the parking area of the church. Many hands together are making the work go quickly!

Pastor Radames was so impressed with the garden area that he is planning to buy flowers tomorrow to put there. The church parking will look so beautiful!

We are making quick progress with the walls of the church! Soon we will start painting the columns!

This afternoon we are starting to paint with the accent color on the front of the church. The Pastor is very happy with the work so far, and we are happy to be able to bless him in this way.

A few of us are helping out one of our church cooks this week by moving furniture from her old apartment to her new one. Her old apartment is on the fourth floor. We are happy to help wherever there is need!

Today we are putting the finishing touches on the church building! Everything is coming together.

As some of us are helping to complete the painting project, the rest of us are spending some rec time at the beach! The water is so refreshing after such a hot week.

Tonight Pastor Radames invited us to dinner at Bonanza Restaurant! It has been an amazing experience working with him this week and being able to get to know him as we paint the church.
