We arrived to our home for the week and started off with an orientation meeting and a wild game of Uno. We cannot wait to be a part of what God is doing in Cobb Island!

This morning we joined Cobb Island Baptist Church for their Sunday School and it was a great time of study and discussion about 1 Kings. The lesson was very interactive and yes, Jacob even got covered in weeds!

Yesterday morning we split into three groups and headed to our ministry sites around Cobb Island.
Our first group walked around the island to invite more kids to VBS. We spent intentional time in prayer as we walked.

Another group of us worked on the yard at Valerie’s house, a member of the church. We trimmed the bushes, mowed the lawn, and pulled many weeds. We got some time to connect with Valerie before she left for the week. We are excited for the opportunity to have her yard all cleaned up and ready when she gets home!

Between our morning projects and VBS we had some time to relax and enjoy God’s beautiful creation! That time included reading God’s Word, kayaking, paddle boarding, and some rest.
We also broke into small groups and shared our testimonies with each other. There is power and beauty in sharing the stories of how we have experienced God at work in our lives.

We were all hands on deck yesterday finishing up Valerie’s yard. We trimmed some more bushes, pulled so many deeply rooted weeds, and finished out the yard with laying mulch. We pray this blesses Valerie and many more around her who see what’s been done here!
Several of us also went to Walmart to shop for Cobb Island Baptist Church to be able to create an emergency food pantry for people who are in need. We loaded up several carts and took it to the church to be organized.

This morning we helped set up for an event at the fire station across from the church. We scrubbed and squeegeed the floors and set up the room with tables and chairs. It was great to connect with the people there and pray over them today!
We also went back to Jeannie’s house to do some more raking. We finished moving the entire mountain of leaves today!

We sorted through all of the items we shopped for earlier this week to start the emergency food pantry at Cobb Island Baptist Church. Members of the community will now be able to have their immediate needs met when they come to the church.

For our rec day we went to the Bible museum and it was incredible! Seeing stories from the Bible brought to life in a new way really impacted us. What a blessing that we have access to God’s Word every day of our lives!

We left Cobb Island this morning and we are grateful for all God did in this place. While we are sad to be leaving we are expectant for all that God has in store for this island we got to call home for a week and for us as we return home.
“Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” Philippians 1:6
