Jamestown Presbyterian Church

Our PPM staff are busy getting things ready for our arrival this evening. 

After a long drive we made it to First Baptist Church of Waldorf! We are relaxing tonight with a few rounds of uno before church tomorrow.

We are so excited for this week of ministry in Washington D.C.

This morning, our team joined FBC Waldorf’s Youth for a Bible study before the worship service! We loved worshipping and fellowshipping with our brothers and sisters in Christ. 

We spent this morning packing bread and desserts for over 400 people with our friends at Metropolitan United Methodist Church! We’ll be back tomorrow and Wednesday to finish cooking, packing, and distributing these meals.

Lots of laughter (and a bit of screaming) during our games of mafia last night with Stockbridge!

We spent another morning sorting food with Metropolitan UMC. Today, we organized food and broke down boxes in preparation of tomorrow’s food distribution! 

At the suggestion of one of our friends from Metropolitan UMC, we swung by the Potomac River on our way back to the church after food sorting. From this dock we could see George Washington’s house at Mount Vernon!

Today we finished the painting project we started yesterday in FBC’s lobby. We listened to music and had a blast!

Last night consisted of more games with our Stockbridge friends, including ping pong!

Today, we finally got to see the fruit of our labor at Metropolitan UMC and packaged and distributed over 400 hot meals! 

It was amazing to see the commitment of our friends at Metropolitan UMC and the gratitude of the people we served. 

Thursday was a rainy day in DC, but we made the most of it by visiting the National Museum of Natural History and the Holocaust Memorial Museum! 

We loved learning about science and history and spending time together as a team after a week of ministry. 

After visiting the museums, we walked around DC and saw some famous landmarks including the Washington Monument, the Lincoln Memorial, the Vietnam War Memorial Wall, and the Korean War Memorial.
