WE ARE HERE!!

by Azarian Bennett | July 18, 2022 6:59 AM

After an 18-hour drive down from Rhode Island, we finally made it to Russellville, Kentucky! We couldn’t be more excited to be here to serve this community!

WE ARE HERE!!

Morning Devo

by Azarian Bennett | July 18, 2022 7:06 AM

One of our own participants gave a devotional this morning on Psalm 139 to kick off our week! What a powerful word we received about our identity in Christ and His love for us. This piece of scripture is going to directly impact ministry this week!

First Day of Service

by Dillon Crum | July 19, 2022 8:27 AM

Today we went to Good Samaritan Ministry.  Good Samaritan serves the local community through food distribution and financial support.  Recently, since the pandemic assistance has been cut off the number of clients has grown by 50 households.  As God would have it, the Wednesday before we arrived Good Samaritan got approval to expand into a new building.  We helped them move shelves into their new warehouse and helped them paint their new sorting room.  It was such a beautiful reminder that God called us here for a reason!

Painting with Purpose

by Dillon Crum | July 19, 2022 4:15 PM

Today we went back to Good Samaritan. Ms. Denise was glad to have us back as they rarely get big groups that help them for an extended period of time. Now that the primer was on we got to apply our first coat of paint. Ms. Denise was so excited to see the walls a different color after staring at the brown particle board for the last 20yrs! It was another wonderful morning and early afternoon of working together and helping those who do so much for their local community!

Sand it Down

by Azarian Bennett | July 19, 2022 11:02 PM

One of the ladies from our host church has a stubborn door that takes a lot of force to open. To make accessing her outside room a little bit easier, we started to sand down the top and side of the door. It’s taken patience and some elbow grease, but it can now be opened and shut with ease!

Washing With Power

by Azarian Bennett | July 19, 2022 11:09 PM

For some of us, this is our first time being able to use a power washer! A lady that lives in the community needed some help cleaning up her porch from the residue leftover from the old carpet. We are so thankful to be able to love on this community however we can!

Pack It Up

by Azarian Bennett | July 19, 2022 11:13 PM

We had a crew stationed on packing non-perishables into plastic bags that will be dispersed into the community! With good fellowship and multiple hands, we were able to fill up the shelves with food packages ready to be given to local Kentucky goers!

VBS

by Azarian Bennett | July 19, 2022 11:20 PM

What a BLAST it was to be able to partner with the other PPM team staying just a mile down the road from us with their Vacation Bible School! From playing kickball, to doing arts and crafts, to doing fun dances, this will be an experience we will never forget! It has been so fun being able to play with the kids from the community and share the Gospel with them all while making memories!!

Leaving with Love

by Dillon Crum | July 20, 2022 7:36 PM

Today we finished painting and helping Good Samaritan move into their new space. It was amazing to see the joy on Ms. Denise's face as she looked around! As we gave her a group hug before leaving we were reminded what a wonderful gift it is to serve out of love.

Some Family Fun

by Dillon Crum | July 22, 2022 4:22 PM

Today was our last full day in Kentucky! We spent the morning on a "Hike n' Worship" through the beautiful forests of Lake Malone State Park. While it took longer than we planned and there were some unexpected adversities it was a wonderful bonding time for our team! Afterwards we spent the day at Southern Lanes where we rode bumper cars, played laser tag, took turns in the batting cage, and had a little bowling competition. When we got back to Post Oak that evening Sarah and Ruth made us a wonderful pasta dinner. It was such a wonderful way to end such a perfect week.

Hike N’ Worship

by Azarian Bennett | July 23, 2022 1:57 PM

What an EXPERIENCE! One of our own leads a ministry back home where they hike trails while worshipping. It was awesome being able to participate in that in the great state of Kentucky!
