CSM

We arrived last night after a long day of driving.  We are wide awake and ready for a beautiful day of worship.  We can’t wait to see what God has in store for our team.

Abbie and Aaron shared their testimonies today during the worship service at Hughes United Methodist.  

They shared from their hearts and God spoke through them as they told how God has worked in their lives and how they both strive each day to serve Him in all they do.

Our hearts were touched deeply.

We had a great time this afternoon seeing some of D.C. sights, including the Washington Monument and Lincoln Memorials, as well as the White House itself! All of that walking has made us ready for our week of work ahead, and ready to serve God! 

We had a great time worshiping together last night in celebration of the Lord our God! We heard a great story about the power of God, and His work through missions, and we’re ready for our week of service ahead of us!

Lizzy has been busy prepping for our painting project in the fellowship hall at Hughes.

We’re hard at work sorting donations for a Christmas giveaway that Hughes United Methodist does in the community! It’s an honor to help with a great cause such as this, and we’re happy to be doing it! 

We’re also spending our morning getting the community room ready to paint! We’ve taken down the blinds, we’ve taped the floors, and we’re ready to start the painting process! 

Heidi is preparing the students to begin the trim work in the fellowship hall.  It has been great to watch her teach the students and her intentionality with the team.  The students are so willing and eager to learn and serve.

We’ve started the process of getting this room painted! After prepping for it all this morning, we’re ready to get this room painted a new color! 

After a hard day of work, we have the first coat of paint on this room! Tomorrow we help with the food distribution, and back to painting in the afternoon! Woohoo!!

We are so glad to be spending our day helping Hughes United Methodist in their food distribution! This morning we prepped for the afternoon, carried all the bags of food out, and helped organize for the afternoon!! 

We are hard at work preparing to serve 500 families this afternoon.  The team has worked hard this morning carrying out the bags that are full of non-perishables for the families.  

Now onto packing fruit and vegetable boxes!

We’re knocking it out of the park with the packing of the produce! We’ve set up an assembly line so we can best set the food out, and wow, is it moving fast! We’re so ready to meet the people of the community, and to serve them in the name of Jesus.

The girls are having some fun learning ballet after a rewarding and busy morning serving the community.  

CSM has been amazing!!!  The team has worked so hard today!!  500 bags of non-perishables, 500 bags of fruit and produce all packed and placed with loving care into the cars or hands of 500 very grateful families!!

It’s a brand new morning and we’re all tired after our days of hard work, but we are getting ready for more! We had a great wake up call with help from Jenny, shaking out the z’s and getting ready for the day! 

We’ve gotten started on the 2nd coat of paint for the fellowship hall at Hughes United Methodist! We’re getting rid of the last bit of color from the previous paint, and moving forward with the newer one! 

We’re also glad to be back helping sort different donations that Hughes United has received. These donations are going for a great cause, and we’re so thankful that we are able to be a small part of it!

Awesome job this morning by this crew painting the hallway where all of the church offices are located.  Amazing hard working adults and students that are excited to make things fresh and new for this church family.

We’ve moved on to our final project, painting the window wells that the fellowship hall windows look onto! We’re having a blast making this beautiful church look even better! 

The week is over!  It was a busy, spirit filled, friendship making week of seeing God work in mighty ways.

Hughes United Methodist and their church members couldn't have been more excited to have 2 teams lodging and serving there.  

Lifelong friendships were made!  God truly opened the doors with PPMs new partnership and Hughes.  We were all blessed way more than any of us could have imagined.

Yesterday we helped pack and prepare the food pantry for their distribution again on Tuesday.  The team killed it as we filled 435 bags and put them on pallets, all in 35 minutes!!! 

What a wonderful way to end our week ministry!
