ARRIVED!!!

by PPM Staff | June 25, 2012 7:42 AM

We are here! Leaving on Saturday and finally arriving on Sunday afternoon all safe and sound! Hello Bethel Baptist Church! Thank goodness the rain held off while we unloaded our luggage. Bethel Baptist is a church that was once a Bowling Alley! We are thankful for them to have such a cool place for our lodging. Time is moving fast as we have a Pizza Dinner with other PELICANS and get prepared with a meeting from all of our cool, hip and fabulous staff. Church is on the agenda for tonight at Full Gospel and we can not wait! We are so ready for what God has planned for us this week.

VBS, and work projects

by Jess Janicki | June 27, 2012 9:28 AM

Monday, the team got up, and then headed to First Gospel for the start of VBS. It was such a neat and unique day, since we actually got to go with the church, and the VBS kids downtown to enjoy the Miami Heat Rally and parade! It was a great time of bonding with the kids. When the team returned to the church, they were able to spend time playing games, and getting to know each other! It was such a blessing and so much fun to able to spend that time in fellowship, not only with each other, but with the church as well. In the afternoon the team headed out for a day of shopping and relaxation. It was an awesome day, and God is going to do great things this week! On Tuesday, the team returned to First Gospel for another day of VBS. The craft for the day was doing Tie-Dye shirts! It was so much fun for all who did it. In the afternoon, the teams headed to Cosmopolitan Baptist Church for a day of painting. Some of the students went with Pastor Ransom to paint a shut-in's wheel chair ramp. Later that evening, the team met up with the other teams serving this week, and were able to enjoy a Jamaican dinner at Parkway Baptist. The teams put on a wonderful Youth Service, and it was wonderful to hear from some of the Students from each team, and to hear their testimonies. It was a powerful service, and God was definitely at work last night. God is Good!

Prayer Walks

by Jess Janicki | June 28, 2012 7:31 AM

Yesterday was a great day at VBS, and the kids really enjoyed making bracelets, and playing basketball. After lunch the teams went to Cosmopolitan Baptist Church, and finished up the painting projects. After the painting was done, the teams split into 2 group, and one group went with Pastor Ransom, and the other went with Pastor Shane. It was a powerful time of prayer walking around the neighborhood, praying for people, and praying against the darkness there, for God to let the light shine in. After dinner, the teams ran a service at Cosmopolitan, and it was a great time of fellowship, and fun. God is good!

Beach service

by Jess Janicki | June 30, 2012 1:08 AM

Yesterday, the team had VBS in the morning, and also had a short lesson on Haiti, and learned a bit of French and Creole. After lunch, the teams headed to Hollywood Beach for a day full of sun, sand, and ocean! It was a great time of relaxation, and rejuvenation! The team had dinner at the Taco Shack, and after dinner all the teams joined together to worship the Lord on the beach. It was amazing time of being able to hear from different people about the way God has been moving in their lives. Being able to shout praise to the Lord in such a public setting is a beautiful, and powerful things! God is Good!

Final Day

by Jess Janicki | June 30, 2012 1:09 AM

\Today was the last day of VBS and work at both churches. We had a service to thank First Gospel for having us, and for letting us serve along side of them for VBS. After lunch, the teams headed to Cosmopolitan Baptist for the final day of painting and planting flowers. Everything got painted, and all the flowers were planted! After dinner, there was another farewell service to say thank-you and goodbye. The week has been an amazing week, and it’s been a blessing to be able to watch both churches, Asbury and National Presbyterian come together as one team, and work together with other churches as the body of Christ. The team was blessed to be able to start a partnership with two new churches! God moved in many ways, both big and small, this week! To God be all the Glory, for He is always good!
