Primera Iglesia Bautista de Mediania Alta is located in the heart of Loiza, Puerto Rico. They minister to the community through evangelism, food distribution, service projects where needed, shut-ins and elders ministry, and large community events. They also have a church plant in the community of Piñones. They believe greatly in missions, and love to help however possible for teams to come to PR and support the local church. They are also one of the first Baptist churches established in Puerto Rico! It was in 1902 when a sister from Loiza heard about a pastor preaching in Carolina. She talked with her cousins and arranged for a horse ride to hear the pastor. After the service, she talked with the pastor and asked him to come to Loiza to preach the Gospel. The first church building was made out of straw, and now the Lord has grown the church and they are expanding each year.
