Appalachia Pastor
Appalachia Church
Testimony:
The people of Appalachia are incredibly humble, yet equally proud of their heritage and lifestyle and are some of the most hard-working, close-knit, family-first, hospitality-oriented groups of people you’ll ever meet. The Appalachian people not only have to battle the geographical isolation of their location, but their hardship has been perpetuated by the large loss of jobs due to the decline of mining, steel, and several manufacturing industries. The shortage of gainful employment has led to severe financial poverty in many communities, and as a result, the effects of substance abuse, food insecurity, and homelessness have taken their toll. The hearts of many people have been fractured, and “hopelessness” is an all-too-common term used by many. Our partners are actively engaged in their local communities and focus on assisting with physical needs and spiritual needs. Their presence often helps combat this feeling of hopelessness that communities are battling, and the opportunities to serve and shine their light for Christ are abundant. They are providing vital community focused programs and assistance 365 days a year, to help show the love of Jesus with their neighbors.
