Pastor
David Rowland
Belmopan Baptist Church
Pastor Testimony:
Pastor Rowland tells us his testimony: “My journey started 33 years ago while me and my wife started as managers of a camp. I was not a Christian at the time. My wife was a Christian and she started attending church. Four months later I accepted Jesus into my heart and began to attend as well. While attending church, I got baptized, became a member, and participated in several Bible studies and small groups. After a year, I was asked by my pastor to prepare a sermon for the Sunday service. I preached for 15 minutes and ran out of ammunition, and I thought I did a terrible job. My pastor came up to me and he said, “Congratulations, you did a good job on your first sermon!” I was so surprised. Six months later, I became the youth Sunday school class teacher followed by becoming the assistant pastor of the church. We spent 14 years at the church before we had to move to Belmopan for work. Several years later, a vacancy for a pastoral position came up, and I became the pastor at Belmopan Baptist Church. We have been pastoring here for 6 years now.”
Meet the church:
Belmopan Baptist Church
Belmopan Baptist Church started in the late 1970s, and over the years, the impact the church has had in the community has been great. The fellowship is a diverse group of people with different ethnicities. The church is vital to the community because of the continued discipling of new believers, Biblical teaching provided to the church members, visitations and help to those in need, and the monthly pantry drive. The church motto is “to reach those who are lost and are living without Christ in their life.”
