Pastor and Director of Maná Feeding Program. Testimony:
I was born in Nicaragua and came 20 years ago to Costa Rica. I found myself in a different country Illegally and without a family. I didn’t believe in God when I was young, even though I had a family. I realized my husband was being unfaithful to me and I went through depression and even wanted to end my life. In this moment of pain and fear I challenged God. I wanted to encounter Him. I turned on the radio, and I heard a voice saying, “I talk to you woman, today is your day for salvation, give your life to the Lord.” I went to my niece crying and accepted Christ right there. I then tried to find a church to grow spiritually. I always had a great passion for children and women. I understood their pain since I had been there before. One day in the morning the Lord spoke to me saying, you will give others to me. In that moment I was called to ministry. After this, the people from my community started to come to me to find support and guidance, especially the children. Something woke up in my life and my ministry expanded more and more. To the point where I founded a church to help the people. God used the church to provide resources and start a feeding program for the children.

In 1998, Pastora Cristy had hit rock bottom. She didn’t grow up in a Christian family and didn’t know much about God, until one day, she felt an overwhelming urge in her heart that Jesus was the answer to all her problems. When she was 18, she decided to give her life to Jesus. Some time later, God called her and her husband, Rigoberto, to the Pastoral Ministry. The first place they served was "El Tucán" in la Virgen, Sarapiquí. There was no water or electricity supply, no supermarkets, no schools, nothing. Many families lived in precarious conditions back then. It was very hard, but God was faithful. They wanted to open a Daycare, but the property conditions did not allow them to, so they decided to plant a church and start a Children's Feeding Program. The church was built first, and they fed the kids there and in the front yard. Whenever they did not have church service, they had the feeding program. Because of the impact the feeding program was having in the community and the need that still existed, the government got involved to help build a facility to host the program. Now the church and the feeding program have separate buildings. She was 25 years old when they started the pastoral ministry, and they still faithfully served the Lord standing for the ministry God has entrusted them.
