Pastor Testimony:
Pastor Gerardo was born in a big, devoted Catholic family with nine siblings. They used to go to Mass every Sunday. He believed in God but never had a personal encounter with Him. As a kid, he worked at a tomato plantation. At the age of 16, he started drinking alcohol and his use became so bad, he was at risk of becoming homeless. He used to pray every day, as his mother taught him as a child. One day, he questioned his lack of faith and began to search for answers by reading the Bible and soon after, invited some local Christian friends to share the Gospel with him and his wife - they accepted salvation that night. Pastor has been married for 46 years and has 3 children. He has been a pastor for 31 years, with 18 years in his current church.

Iglesia Vida Nueva is located in Puerto Viejo de Sarapiqui, a unique town located along the river in the Heredia Province of Costa Rica. The incredible biodiversity and adventure you can find in Sarapiqui are unbeatable. Thanks to the Rio Sarapiquí (River Sarapiquí), the land is fertile, and agriculture thrives in this region. The word of God is the church’s foundation and they believe passionately in church planting and discipleship. Through Vida Nueva, five churches have been planted and nurtured!
