Pastor Odir became a Christian through his sister-in-law in 1990 while he was in Guayabal (he came just because he liked Katia, they weren’t dating yet). 2 people in 1992 prophesied that he’d be a pastor. In 1995, he began a pastorship in Guaitil. It was a super hard process. He biked from Guayabal from Guaitil 4 days a week for 5 years for little money. When he wanted to give up, he was in a car accident so he was able to rest for a year, but in 2002 he was pastoring again. The church in Guayabal was founded in 1988. The first services were held in Katia’s (Pastor Odir's wife) home. The government actually created this community. The believers started saving money. They were all poor, but sold things to sell to get money for the land and the building. Pastor is 46 years old and has been married to Katia for 22 years. They have 3 sons and 1 daughter. He has been pastoring for 18 years, 14 years at this church.
