Meet the church:
Iglesia Bautista Metropolis
Iglesia Bautista de Metropolis is located on a residential area between Carolina and Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico, allowing the church to minister a wide area. The church has been in this community since 1988, where it began by gathering in a house. As the church grew in the community, they expanded into a huge tent, where they would continue to hold services while the church building was being constructed. In 2017, the church building was finalized, when the island was hit by Hurricane Maria which destroyed the tent the church had been using. Following the church motto “We enter to worship, and go out to serve”, the church then took this opportunity to serve the community though food boxes, roof repair and any other thing needed. This church has a missionary heart, and not only supports the community through hosting short-term mission trips, but also has in the past sent mission teams as well. This is the only church in Puerto Rico currently affiliated to the American Baptist Churches USA and the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship.
