Meet the church:
Casa del Nuevo Pacto
Iglesia Nuevo Pacto wasn’t always what it is today - where the church stands now, used to be a bar owned by the Medina family. Emanuel was married to his wife, Maricel, but through a series of hardships and wrong choices, he chose to leave her and they separated. Maricel hadn’t been walking with God when the separation happened, but returned to Christ in desperation for her marriage and began praying consistently for her estranged husband. She felt God say He would restore their family. Emanuel found the Lord and came back to Maricel and God continued His redeeming work in their lives. They knew they had to get rid of the bar. So, they tore it down and built a small church on the property. At first, everyone told them they wouldn’t survive without the income from the restaurant, but many of those people are now members of the church. They’ve built so much on pure faith, and even are looked down upon by other churches for their past. But, regardless, His church is alive and active in the community! They are trying to reach their neighbors in new and relevant ways. The vision of the church is to preach the Good News. The passages the church adheres to are Mark 16:17-18 and Matt 28. The church's hope is that people would be whole and transformed on every level. The church is mission-minded and currently serves the community of San Fernando by: helping families (home repairs, food distribution, etc.), Bible Study cell groups, evangelism, helping other pastors in the area, sewing schools for women, worship/dance ministry, encouraging health and wellness, and intercession. The church dreams to one day have a sustainable feeding program for the community.
