Pastor Testimony:
When Pastor Edgar was 25 years old, he was tired of life. He was an alcoholic. He was invited to a church activity, but was reluctant to go. He went to the event and was a little drunk, but the Gospel was shared with him and it stuck. He gave his life to Jesus Christ and his life changed! Edgar got involved in church and leadership eventually invited him to get more involved. He assisted the pastor, did counseling, and then went to seminary. After seminary, Pastor Edgar felt called to pastor a church. He and his wife, Maribel, knew the Lord was leading them to Lagunilla. The pay was minimal and the work would be challenging, but they believed the Lord would be with them. He has proven Himself true. They have one son named Gadiel.

Iglesia Biblica Sama
Iglesia Biblica Sama is on fire for the Lord and has a passion to reach Costa Rica for Christ. The hospitality, vision, and ministries of the church are straight from the Lord. They had an old building that they had to knock down due to the 2012 Nicoya Earthquake, as the roof was wobbly and the floors were ruined. So they met under a green tarp, having faith that the Lord had bigger plans for their congregation and community. God promised Pastor Edgar and his wife that “the oil will never run out” and it hasn’t. God has provided ways for the church, the physical building and the members, to be restored in ways they couldn’t have asked or imagined. PPM teams were a big part of that process. The building is amazing! Truly, the Lord is there and is using it to impact a region with the Gospel through discipleship, evangelism, a feeding program, a vibrant women’s ministry, and a wonderful children’s ministry.
